Christmas Eve - Fractal Irony

posted by Dzeni at

If the festive season has not yet reached as far as your desktop, its not too late! This image is ironic for two reasons, first I don't celebrate Christmas and second, its the middle of summer over here in New Zealand.

Christmas Eve

Here's wishing all of you out there a great Christmas - wherever you are.

Despite the time stamp, its Christmas Eve over here in New Zealand. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Hi Dzeni,

no I don't celebrate Xmas either.

But the whole country shuts down & its hard to ignore the huhaha of it all. So I just share a feast with friends & wish everyone peace, love & happiness. The jingle bells bit is lost on me, but I appreciate the whole concept of a time of goodwill. With all that ails our society, we sure need to reinforce our common positive bonds.

This piece you've posted is very interesting. Care to share what process brought it into being?

Cheers

Happy times,

Anu.

Hi Anu,

Thanks for your kind comments. The process of making the piece was fairly straight forward. The icicle image appeared in Apo and was rendered. Then I created the snowflakes in Illustrator and assembled the wallpaper. The icicle image consists of three transforms all set to linear, I think I have a bit of spherical in one of them. Got lucky with the gradient. Hope you have are having a brilliant day today :)

If New Zealand is as beatiful as Peter Jackson made it look then you are fortunate.

Thanks for the good wishes
